It's been almost 1 week since my orchid lady's adult molt, and she still isn't eating. I've tried flies and roaches, but nothing works. Shoukd I be worried? Is there anything I can do?

I had to do that with one of my mesopteryx females. She didn't want to eat either even 3 days after molting, so I gave her some honey and water, and the next day cut a mealworm and gave her the gooey end and she took it. I know Orchids cant have mealworms so maybe try cutting a fly lol.

Yeah squish a fly's head and put the gooey brain-face goodness up to her mouth! She won't refuse! Even if its been gutloaded with honey, she'll devour it!

Cut a roach head off and offered her the guts she violently refused at first, but then after persistence she took it and looks to be enjoying it. Maybe she was trying to be a vegan mantis?

Where did you hear that Orchids can't have mealworms? I feed mealworms to mine now and then.

I have fed mine silkworms, superworms, roaches horned worms and other feeders but if shes not eating after this long its most likely related to an outside stress factor, could be anything really its hard to know.

HAAA !! We're all MAD ! MAD I tell you ! :eek:nline2long:

Mine refused food for five days after her molt. The only thing she had was a little bit of beetle jelly I'd cut in half in preparation for feeding my other pets. She started eating adult lateralis roaches on her seventh day, but it seemed to me like her feeding response was far less aggressive than when she was still a subadult.

I wouldn't be worried unless she refuses water and sweets. Has she started eating yet?
