So I've never raised mantids that come from outside of the US so a quick question. Is molting different in terms of prep time before they actually molt. I know with an L2 Chinese nymph, it can stop eating in the morning and have a molt as early as later that evening you or take up to a day until you see the L3.
I have an L2 Orchid nymph who was noticeable swatting away prey about a day and a half ago. I figured the molt was going to happen soon, but nothing yet. He is hanging upside down and so I'm sure it'll happen soon. I don't think he's sick but was just curious if there was a difference. I have been feeding them all types of bugs and their abdomens were quite large, so maybe he's trying to digest a little before molting or maybe he was just full? I don't know. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks
