Oxys - exposed mandibles & laying ooth (videos)

Adult female Oxyopsis gracilis lost the flap (the labrum) normally concealing the mandibles. She is also missing a portion of one yellow palp. I'm not sure if she was damaged in a fight with one of her sisters or a cricket, but she will still be an active and productive adult.

Whoa! The SFX/Music at the beginning of the first video sounds just like Predator's growl, if you've ever seen the movie :blink: (Make sure to watch the first one if you haven't, because the second one sucks).

Cool videos and great music! Both of my Oxys laid ooths on the same day. (They aren't fertile since I don't have any males.) I really like this species. They are colorful, friendly and have a healthy appetite for their size.
