She sent me a bunch and they all look different, so I might be updating this thread with new pictures every once in a while.
How do you make that judgement? I count 8 rear segments, but my eyes aren't the best so close.that's one nice female there
oops it is a male :blush:How do you make that judgement? I count 8 rear segments, but my eyes aren't the best so close.
They're really cute. Reminds me of a mix between Stagmomantis, Phyllovates(the way they hold the abdomen), and Taumantis.oops it is a male
the screen of my laptop is covered with stuff (dust, fly poo, water stain thingies) so i thought i saw the end of a female's ovipositor but if i look on the side the end of the abdomen is full of segments
still a really neat mantis, almost looks like a stagmo
He edited his post.I read that Alex first says male, then female. What is it? I will not call it on the basis that the photo is not accentuating that matter and it is not clear. It should be by that stage.
The jiggling was exactly what I noticed first. Ask Jude. So weird and cool!I love the way they jiggle themselves when they're trying to look like a twig you just disturbed. The males also have longer cerci than the females if you have trouble counting the ventral plates.
The projections on the end of the abdomen. What's cerci?
Besides an evil queen! ba dump chhh!
