P!NK orchid mantis! lookout pre, there might be a pinkoff soon :P

i think we all remember precarious had a nice orchid gal with some good pink in her, and i noticed one of my L6 nymphs has intense pink on her now, she wasnt like this a week ago, and may be getting ready to molt

i havent figured the lighting thing out yet so the pics brighten her up just a little bit (maybe not the first 2 or 3 but the others do)

but idk how long her cool colors will last, she has the most interesting color scheme of all my orchids (i have 9 above L2 and 3 at L1)

she always does this before a molt, but never this drastic

look how swollen the wingbuds appear, i assume it's because on the molt to subadult the wingbuds change shape, so the extra material that forms the shape is sitting folded under the presub wingbuds

i'm confident she will molt tonight (she was in an almost molt position so i shouldnt have really taken these pics tonight but she is fine, i spritzed her and am patiently waiting...

See, i once stated that presub buds became swollen, as was evident on my stalli and sibylla. Now you have even more proof!

Alex, you need to put her on a pretty flower or something. Mine always flushed pink before a molt and sometimes before they lay ooths. She is pretty! Wished they stayed that way, but mine always end up mostly white unless I can put them out in the sun, which is not an option at this time of year.

exact same color as mine! She kept her pink after a molt. Maybe it's the fluorescent lighting.
