i made a surprising observation tonight. as i was checking my mantids, i noticed that one of my p. wahlbergiis was turning pink. then i noticed that my pink ( since she's getting ready to molt ) subadult orchid's container was right next to him and she happened to literally right next to him. well, they were seperated by the walls of the containers but distance-wise, they were within an inch of each other. i'm guessing the orchid has been there for awhile, well, long enough for the p. wahlbergii to mimic it's coloration.

mantids amaze me more and more each day...
