I know that if the international people have there own exotics and can't ship to the us, does this mean that we have stuff that seems exotic to them but we can't ship to Europe either? Just wondering since I know that the us has its own interesting number of invertabrates.

@KevinsWither Interesting thought, and likely depends on their actually location; although, with the much larger amount of various species available over there I really doubt it. Then again it might be like those in the US who do not know or care about the US Customs/importing/exporting federal laws ordering them, and likely some have shipped them over there too at some point.

The only way to know for sure though is if one of our non-US members lets us know. ;)

I kind of realized that this seems like a weird idea but universities could co-mutually help us hobbyists with specimens in exchange for some kind of like some local breeding loan program. I also realized that the hobby is kind of like a form of entomology, less professional though.

Seems like a good idea but it wouldn't work, as universities and such do have the proper permits and everything. They would be jeopardizing everything (including their permit/employment/department/grants/etc) by doing something like that. All mantids in their possession have to be accounted for and properly kept in the designated area/building, and all mantids have to be registered where they were obtained and such (breeder names, location, shipping details, etc), so that would leave out any breeding incentive for them as any done by a hobbyist would be a problem.
