Hello, Ive been trying to find information on this all day and I just cant seem to get it anywhere, All I would like to know is How often you need to spray each species and Are there other methods used along with spraying for humidity?

I know each species demands high humidity, but reading it as a % doesnt really help me in anyway, would be helpful if someone wrote caresheets on how people look after the animals (Spray twice every other day for example). Just a thought.

If it is any help, they are kept in normal polystyrene cups used for tea, coffee etc. with a fine netting covering the top.

Want to make sure these are kept perfect, would be gutted if something simple goes wrong.

Stuart.

If you are gonna keep them in coffee cups, or anything of that size, then I suggest that you go to a pharmacy and pick up some cotton rounds. they are thin cotton pads about an inch an a half in diameter and are used by women to clean off makeup and apply toners. A stack of two or three in the bottom of each cup will do just fine. Then just add enough water untill the pads have soaked up the water, but do not drip when inverted. This will provide all the humidity needed for several days, and then twice weekly misting of about 5 pumps of the spray bottle per cup should suffice. In fact a fine mist isnt even required, as direct jet streams into the cotton to re-wet it is just as effective. Once the rounds have become littered with little black mantis droppings, or when the cup gives off a slight odor of ammonia simply change out the top pad with a new one.
