after about 9 months of waiting, my Extatosoma tiaratum eggs have started hatching. Heres the first to emerge:

p.s. that lamp there in the background, i painted that myself! thats right. talented too. :lol:

 
Hi, gratz! Wow 9 months is a long time, is that how long it takes for the eggs to hatch normaly or are you counting the time it took to breed them and all that also?

 
these are from when i first got my females and didnt yet have a male, so theyre unfertilized eggs produced via parthenogenesis. they take longer to hatch if theyre unfertilized. my male reached maturity about a month ago so the eggs my girls are producing now will hatch in about 3 to 4 months.
