Has anyone ever explored using phorids as feeders? With my roach colonies and various other animals, phorids are an expected nuisance. I've found a way to trap a significant amount of them daily, a simple deli cup with dog food and a few holes in the lid, as an attempt to cut down their numbers. I was thinking that the captured flies could serve another purpose as nymph food. They're much larger than the fruit flies that I have and tend to run as opposed to fly. Has anyone had any luck with them?

They sound good to me. I dont have any nymphs right now but I have several ooths set up in net cages. Maybe when they hatch?

I wouldn't intentionally breed them since they are so hard to get rid of, but if you've already got them in excess there's no reason not to use them as feeders.
