This girl molted to sub, was fine for an hour, but then became really weak and almost died! I nursed her back to her in the enclosure I'm planning to use for my orchid female when she comes in. There are a lot of pink flowers in there. Perhaps because of this, or perhaps by coincidence, she developed this awesome pink eyes! In person, they look more pink even than this, but I didn't want to edit the photo's colors, because that would feel insincere.

Happens for mine pretty regularly but for lighting

Extreme example of the change within a few hours of lights off

Usually her eyes would be white with a purple strip

is that an orchid male eating a tenodera female?
The tenodera would have to be like L3 lol, and no?

Quite the imagination you got there

Its an adult female orchid mantis eating a dead bug lol, it was dead so i threw it in there and she grabbed it up

Doesn't even look like a tenodera in any way? Well at least not to me

Anyway back to the topic this thread is about, I believe it is an adaptation to increase their night vision?
