Well I've been on a roll this past week, first was the mating of my female Idolo, now with the help of Tammy Wolfe that trusted me with her beautiful adult female Orchid, one of my 2 adult males got the job done last night. I'm so thrilled to get these two species to mate I can hardly contain myself, lol.

All shot through the glass as not let flies out or disturb them too much, so no Precarious type shots to be had...

Awesome! I'm gonna cheer *anytime* I read of successful pairings, but especially when they're of those two species.

Oh god, I'm using emoticons. :hang:

Great Job Nick! Hope to see lots and lots of hatchlings in the near future!

Nick, I'm so glad you had success with the female orchid I sent you! Way to go!

I wish I could confirm that my other female mated, but I didn't see them connect. My male sat on top of the female from 10 am until around 7 pm today. He tapped on her a few times but not as much as last night. They were initially sitting on an orchid plant inside the aquarium. After several hours, I put her on the lid so that she would hang upside down. When I finally removed the male, he wasn't happy. He clung onto my finger very tightly. I'll try again tomorrow.

I don't know what Taz is doing in these emoticons, but it looks triumphant! And someone already used the clapping hands!

Anyhoo - nice work, good job, and well deserved!

Nice work and thanks for sharing some of the scenes. That makes a few of us who should be seeing Orchids this fall. My first female mated last week, and now I wait with you, Tammy and Bill, and others for the outcome. As of three days ago on Sept.22, the 2nd Fem. Orchid with one of the two eager males. They were not connected overnight, but now three nights later, one of the males is just taking a ride. I am now going to be looking forward to oothecae from both of them.
