Just got 3 Miomantis Binotata ooths from a member yesterday
&
When I unwrapped them I was like
"Holy Mantis Cr@p BatMan"
They're Tiny

By far the smallest ooths I've ever seen
&
Just thought I'd share a few pics of how insanely tiny they are

Looking forward to seeing them hatch out

Any one know what the average # of nymphs are per ooth???

PEACE...

I hatch 8 out of mine.. and my female was bred twice? Her second ooth has not hatched yet.

Wow that is a tiny ooth, I would have never guessed that they came so small. Best of luck incubating them. :D

Can't wait to see what pops out

8 to 16 was about my guess

30 they gotta be tiny little guys

Are they cool with FF or should I get something like some Springtails going

I've had anything from about 8-25 in dealing with ooths from this species.

You can start them out on D. Melanogastor fruit flies without a problem. They are very robust eaters yet at the same time tend to avoid cannibalization as long as ample food and room is provided.

I want to say the nymphs have some of the prettiest subtle colors in their earlier instars. It makes me wish I had a really good macro lens for photos.

I had two females one of them laid 14 fertile ooths before passing lowest hatch was 18 and that was the last one she laid 2 days before passing I really did not think it would hatch they are tiny but eat well after about 24 hours they do not have a problem with FF at all they go right for them.

~It's Mantis Saturday~

The 1st one started hatching today

They're not as tiny as I thought they were going to be

Any photos of the new nymphs? I'm very interested to see how big they could be to come out of a ooth that size. :D

Wow sounds like a handful with two ooths hatching at once. ;) Have fun.

Not the best pic
But they're small & fast
&
Don't want to loose any
LOL

They're not as tiny as I was expecting them to be
Given the size of the ooth

I'd say they're about average size for a hatchling

The ones that hatch out of the Not Sure What It Is ooth I found are about the same size
(Added a pic to that post)
&
That ooth is like 10 times bigger than these
