I'm just curious about everyone's methods on pollen coating flies. The larger mantid species I just stuff a few 'kernels' of pollen onto the food and they eat it readily.

I'm thinking of using a mortar and pestle to ground it up into a finer powder, hopefully it will stick better.

Not a bad practice, but I don't do it anymore. I feed flies honey and some pollen goes into making honey along with nectar.

I just put some honey on a needle and put it to my mantids' mouth and they lap it right up. I don't bother with coating.
