Ponder Pictures

Some of you asked to see Ponder pix in her newly-arrived adult form. Here are some taken today. Try and try as I might, I could not get her to do a threat display. I prodded her and even risked putting her adult male T. sinensis step-brother in front of her. She shivered and shook but that was it. I didn't want to stress her any more so I gave up.

Canon 50D with Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro and Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8. Hand held full sun and overcast. Thanks for the compliment !

Those pics are great! Nice coloring on the mantis too. All mine are coming out really pale in comparison. The spikes on the green edging are huge! A truly beautiful specimen.

Wow, she's more beautiful than I even imagined! LOVE the banding on the wings! And her eyes are so cool; in a couple of pictures, they look like they're saying, "who, me?" :lol:

Your shots are very nice, and I love your choice of backdrop. This thread has put the final nail in my coffin: I will now be getting a budwing at some point in the future!
