I had 3 Pseudocreobotra ocellata all same instar. One of the specimens was larger than the other two, and was more colorful... beautiful purplish hued abdomen. They are too young for me to accurately sex them, but I suspect the larger more colorful one was the female. She died, leaving me with what I believe are 2 males. ?

Could I be wrong? Is it typical with this species for the female to be larger/more colorful as I described?

I am sorry you lost her! What instar were they? I have never kept this species before, so I don't know any specifics.

They are ≈ L5.

Terrible photos... but for what they're worth.

Here is the one that died.

Here are the other 2.

If they're both male, I'll probably seek to make a trade/sell instead of trying to locate an L5-L6 female. ?

Wow! I see what you mean with the colors! The bright one was definitely female, but I need better pics of the abdomen to tell the gender of the other two.

I'll work on getting better abdomen shots. Taking photos of these 2 is very difficult... they are skittish as roaches, another reason I suspect males. The assumed female was calm as a cucumber. ?
