Species treatment for Pseudovates arizonae complete. Very interesting mating strategies involved in this species:
Females tend to mature to adulthood before males and are more commonly encountered. Mating readily takes place approximately 2 weeks after final molt. Males quickly advance upon females and mount them without hesitation. Cannibalism of male is not indicated during copulation, which can last for several hours. Males may mate with multiple females. Female capable of depositing oothecae 3 days after mating and can produce multiple oothecae, containing between 40-76 eggs each. Unmated females may produce up to 6 infertile oothecae.
