R. Basalis hole in shield

Hey everyone! My R. Basalis has seemingly developed a hole in the shield. I was wondering if anyone had seen this before? I don't think that it was a molting issue as he hasn't molted in awhile and his last molt went extremely smoothly. I was thinking maybe it could be fungal? or he could've just been a dolt and fallen off a twig. On the fungal note, I've been anticipating a molt for a bit so humidity is a little higher than usual, could that be an issue as well?
