3 days ago was a sad day. My nephew wanted me to show him one of my mantids. I grabbed one of my females who was on a twig and wile lifting her out of her tank she slipped off her twig and fell to the floor. She was a gravid female and very very fat and when she hit the floor she kinda exploded her insides out on impact. Still alive i had no other choice but to give her a swift stomp to the head to put her out of her misery. Still depressed but i just didnt see any other way but to do it. On the plus side i still got an ooth from my other girl incubating and to my excitement a wild ooth in my backyard on a twig that im leaving alone. A lesson was learned be careful when holding a gravid female rip turbo =( im sorry.

So sorry. :(

I am sure that you are not the only one who had to learn the hard way. I have heard of that happening to peoples mantids before.

I am sorry too. I have a bunch of baby H. Multispinas. Would you like one or two? They can't replace Turbo but it would help fill the hole in your heart. Pm me if you like.

thanks for the offer but if this ooth hatches ill have more then i can handle already. I appreciate the kind offer though.

Sorry to hear that. I think my mantid Puzzle is going to die because I left her to close to one of my other mantids and she was attacked. It happens to the best of us... We've both learned a valuable lesson now.

It happens like that sometimes. I one time sat on a Chinese mantis. Poor thing pretty much exploded on impact due to my fat arse! R.I.P Crevice. You have been missed. :(
