Just like the title says, I couldn't make this up.

I have little dowel rods for the male to perch on. When I put the female in his cage, he looks at the female, but mated with the dowel rods. He is less than 1 week as adult, so maybe he'll be normal soon?

Anyone seen anything like this? How can I get him to mate females instead of wood?

Mods ruined the title.

My male stallii did that to my finger. I finally removed him and put him near my female. He's been connected to her for the last 33 hours without an end.

Yeah males sort of get in a hypnotic state and are stuck on 'mate' and grip one thing and have to mate with it...he probably picked up the the female's pheromones and misjudged the mount...a male popa mounted my finger accidentally, and I just gently transferred his grasp to her back and then he got it right..
