My Religosa ooth has only yielded 3 nymphs so far and one of them is so tiny it looks like a preemie. The ffs are almost bigger than this little guy. I don't see him making it. I can only moisten the paper towel in the tiny cup he is in because any droplet of water from misting the cup will surely drown him. Is if possible to hatch a premature nymph. When I looked at him under my macro lens he is almost transparent in colour. Really strange... He is by far the tiniest little guy I have Ever seen!!! Feeding him may be a problem as the ff is actually slightly larger than his head. How long can I wait to feed him?? So, far he seems to suck the moisture from the paper towel. What to do???

that one is a mantid and not a parasitic wasp, right? Just checking as before my carolina ooth hatched (it was found in a yard) I kept thinking maybe the tiny antlike wasps were mantids but they almost always had little wings I could see and a long thin ovipositor that I could see so I knew they weren't mantid nymphs. When the nymphs did hatch however, I was like man if I knew they would look like that there's no way I could've made that mistake, so I doubt yours is a parasitic wasp, lol, especially if you looked at it under a lens.

Best of luck with the little critter! Maybe he is tougher then the rest. That Napoleon complex thing you know! Keep trying the fruit flies. See if you can find some that are smaller then the rest. If you have extra money to burn, Peter has springtails for sale at his site. Those are tiny and great for timid feeders! I do not think he will go more then a week without eating.

if you dab a little bit of honey near where he sits and show it to him he might bend down to eat some of it, some of my nymphs did even when they could eat fruit flies. The honey might give him that extra nourishment he needs until he can tackle the fruit flies or gets bigger.

He sounds normal to me. Try the smaller fruit flies.

He's like the tinies thing I kid you not!! he is like slightly less than 1/8th of an inch, I checked the others measure 3/4 of an inch or better. but, yeah , I worked out the tinest flies I could there are not many really tiny ones in there but with a little juggling I managed a few out!! It's really funny watching him eat the fly. Looks like a little 3yr old trying to carry a watermelon!!!
