Removing Oothecae From Wood

What's the best way to remove an egg case without damaging it that's been laid on a hard surface like wood?

Use a razor blade and gently cut the ooths from underneath.

I just pry it straight off. If you're worried that you might break it, get a knife and just gently use the knife to "slice" it off. Make sure you give the ootheca a couple days to harden before removing it though.

I too use a razor blade. Just cut into and under the layer of bark.
