Tromos seems to hate her enclosure. she is constantly moving around and she seems like she is never comfortable. unless, i take her out and let sit on a fake flower on my table. as soon as she is out she has no problem sitting around for awhile. i do have to check on her every once in awhile tho. the other day i lost her for couple of minutes but she was just hanging upside down and i couldnt see her. sh eloves her new hang out, i think im gonna have to let her out everyday so she doesnt go crazy in her enclosure

i keep her in a cup with screen on the lid. i used to keep her in an Tupperware like in the second picture, but i had to use it for some nymphs

the flower wouldnt fit in the cup, but its not just the flower she likes to be on. she wants to be on anything as long as she doesn't have to be in her enclosure, right now she is hanging out on my hand cleaning herself while i type. when she is sitting on the flower and i walk by she reaches out for me.

Could it be a ventilation problem in the new cup? Although you did say there was screen on top. Is there more lighting around the flower than the enclosure? Was the enclosure squeeky clean before putting her in? Just random thoughts.

yes to all the above but its not a ventilation issue, it even have little holes all around it

It comes down to this I think: Would you rather spend your life in a room the size of your bathroom or something more the size of a concert arena with a cool flower in the middle of it... :cool2:

Even a mantis knows bigger is better.

i think she really just like being out in the open. she wants to be a free range mantis, she just told me. i had to explain to her that the cats are only friendly when i can watch them closely. we agreed as long as she can come out for a couple of hours every day she will happy enough. :shifty:

i will let her out every day, and i was thinking about making her a little play area and getting one of those picnic food covers for when i cant watch her all that closely.
