My mis-molted rhombo stalii molted to L5 last night. With this molt its damaged hind feet from the last molt have been corrected. As far as the ***, looks like I have another male. What do you think?

Looks female to me.. But I can't tell for sure.. Lol I am having a hard time believing our rhombos will gain 2 inches in the next 2 molts lol

For gender ID it is best to post clear shots from underneath. Sexing is easy, especially in species like this. Use my guide if you're still needed others to confirm for you.

It seems like everyone has had a little bit of trouble with sexing this species.. So I'm not sure it's easy. And I'm pretty sure we know how to ***.. But to do that we need to be able to see lol

I guess my photos weren't as clear as I thought they were. If you ask me, sexing tarantulas is far easier.

How about these? The 2 photos are of the same mantid.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I now have two males and one to be determined at L5. I sexed all of them at L4 and I came up with all males. I hope I was wrong and the last one is female.

Everybody as in who? I've never had trouble sexing this species or a like species. Sexing these large species doesn't get any easier. The only problems sexing them in this thread is due to the pics, which do not properly show the underside of the abdomen. If people knew how to *** there wouldn't be so many of these types of threads.

That's how we learn. We ask questions, make mistakes, and gain experience. I'm new to mantids and I'm not comfortable sexing them with out a second opinion yet. I'm grateful for any help I can get, that's why I'm a forum supporter.

Wasn't directed at you.

This is why I made and posted the guide. But in order for us to properly help you through pictures we have to have the correct angles.

I guess so... But there are a few things about their abdomen that make it hard.. And it really seems like you need to have a really good camera to *** them.. I've gotten mine sexed but I have really good eyes.. That's all I was saying.. I've read that thread of yours over many times.. But they definetly do not seem quite as easy as the species you used in that thread.

I have 6 of these R. stalli at L4 and according to the segment-counting method, all 6 are males. I had no trouble sexing other species like ghosts and budwings even at a younger instar, so that's I wanted a second opinion for these stalli's too.

Yea I've had a easier time with mantis religiosa but these guys seem a little harder but are easier at L5

Yeah I can't wait until they're L5 so I can *** them with more confidence. Hopefully I don't have all 6 males! But mine seem to be slow to molt...

I don't see why not. Both species are what I'll call 'typical' mantids. The mantids posted in this thread look essentially the same.
