Farley was my dog who just passed away today in the morning. He was about 23 years old in human years! About a week ago i was playing with him in my back yard, he was running around happy enjoying life! Then he grew weaker. He couldn't walk, and his stomach started to swell up. He couldn't get up. And i cant explain how fast this transformation was. just a week ago, my dog was fine running around. On Tuesday night, he whimpered the whole night. He kept waking me up and when he did i would comfort him. Then when i came home from school, my parents forgot to give me the keys to get in plus my phone was dead. Luckily my grandparent arrived an hour later and i charged my phone. once my phone came on, i saw a text from my father, Farley passed away. Nothing will replace your dog!

RIP Farley!

I'm so sorry to hear of you losing your dog Farley. Sounds like you found out in a bad way too. I've lost a few close pet dogs and to be honest it was worse than some family members over the years. I wish you well my friend.

I'm sorry for your loss and the fact you had to be told this over a text.

I'll admit I'm confused why this dog wasn't immediately rushed to a vet, unless he was and it just wasn't mentioned? Given you bring up being in school and living with your parents, I assume you are of the age where this would have been your parent's responsibility. The description in your story sounds an awful lot like bloat.

Yes it does sound like bloat. I'm sorry this happened, it's very sad to lose a pet.

well his symptoms really kicked up Tuesday, the following morning my uncle (actual owner of the dog) too him to a vet. The vet said it was a bloat and it was too late so they put him down.

Bloat is a very scary thing when it comes to dogs because it tends to come without warning. Even if you react immediately the mortality rate can be rather high. I'm glad your Uncle was at least able to ease Farley's passing. Once again, sorry for your loss.
