Well thats my happy rant lol, Oh can someone also explain the proper strategy for FF culturing? i saw that mantisplace's only had eggs in it and was just wondering if your suppose to seperate egg and adult... I CANT STOP TALKING! ive never seen an Ooth that huge before! no wonder she almost fell for the past week lol it took her about 3-4 hours to finish it. OK imma stop now. I can tell you what I do with the flies but you will see a million techniques ranging from absurd to simple (like mine). 32 oz insect cup with hole in side blocked with foam plug. An inch of medium, pinch of yeast, water until medium is about like mashed potatoes or a little wetter. Add flies and put on lid. Before too long you will have a lot of flies. I make two cultures minimum for an ooth to ensure I always have enough. Once culture starts drying up make another using as many of the old flies as possible. If you search on fruit flies you're going to find a ton of threads here about it and it is easy to get confused. You don't seperate eggs from adult. They are very easy but many here make it far more difficult than is needed.

Cool and congrats. Now *that's* something I'd trade for.... :)

My little Mandy has only made one that's about 1 1/4"...while I was about as happy as you are now...it wasn't impressive for the size.
