Hola hola saludos desde Mexico, soy criador de Mantis, apenas llevo 3 años en la cria de mantis.
Soy biologo, y abri una UMA, se llama Yolkatsin, es un proyecto que se dedica a la Reproduccion, Exhibicion e Investigacion de mantis
QUE ES UNA UMA?
UMA Unidad de Manejo Sustentable de la Vida Silvestre.
Las UMA's son predios que, sin importar su extensión ni su régimen de propiedad (privada, ejidal, comunal, federal, estatal o municipal), se registran junto con su plan de manejo (en vida libre, intensivo, viveros)ante la Semarnat, promovidos por los propietarios o los legítimos poseedores de los predios que las integran o por quienes cuentan con su consentimiento. Las UMA's pueden funcionar como centros de exhibición, productores de pies de cría, bancos de germoplasma o centros de investigación; son alternativas viables que permiten la conservación, reproducción y propagación de especies silvestres, así como la elaboración de productos, servicios y derivados certificados que pueden incorporarse a un circuito de mercados verdes para su comercialización.
Dependiendo de los objetivos y de las especies a manejar, las UMA's pueden ser Intensivas o Extensivas. En las UMA's intensivas, el manejo de ejemplares se realiza en confinamiento, esto es, en condiciones controladas e intervención directa del hombre, principalmente para especies exóticas, mientras que en las Extensivas o sujetas a manejo de hábitat, los ejemplares se encuentran en vida libre y las prácticas de conservación y mejora, se efectúan en el medio donde se encuentran éstos.
El Plan de Manejo lo elabora el responsable técnico de la UMA y en él se describen los objetivos de la misma, garantizando con su programa de trabajo la conservación de los ecosistemas y la viabilidad de las poblaciones de todas las especies existentes en ella, ya que en él se describen los proyectos a desarrollar dentro de la Unidad, los datos principales del sitio, la(s) especie(s) y la manera en que se piensan aprovechar los recursos disponibles, sin agotarlos ni poner en riesgo la sobrevivencia de la especie en su hábitat..
Es tan amplio el proyecto “UMA Yolkatsin”, que no se queda en el insecto, va más allá, en el generar esa confianza y compromiso con la naturaleza, con el ambiente. Y lo hace a travez de estos insectos, de las mantis, si UD. tiene una mantis en casa , le apuesto a que se siente mas cerca de la naturaleza que teniendo un perro o un hamster. Y si tiene un hijo en casa cuidandola o ayundadola a cuidar, contandole lo importante que es cuidar el ambiente, para que ese animalito subsista en su entorno natural, le aseguro que valorara la natu
raleza, el mundo. Los niños que tienen una maskota en casa y se le ha hablado de conservacion ambiental, no tiran basura en la calle y cuidan los arboles, en si crean una conciencia ambiental.
Se pretende en un futuro, dar platicas sobre la conservación de la vida silvestre en instituciones educativas.
