caught this little guy at my local field today

 
Great photo! I don't think Oregon has hatched a single grasshopper yet and yours is practically an adult. I'm in the wrong state!
Yeah we've got plenty of adults down here actually, that's the only nymph I've seen.

Forgive me for this fellow insect lovers, but chameleons gotta eat too.

The grasshper, is a diff color than ours, are all yours like that?
Well the American grasshoppers are all that color (you can see the adult in my chameleon's mouth) and the nymphs are green/pink. I also catch smaller lawn grasshoppers that vary from brown with streaks of tan and gray to green with brown legs.

 
Mine are either green , green with brown or gray, oh I did see rust color last year, but your are pretty

We also have the big orange and yellow lubbers, but those are no good for feeding off, just cool to look at. My mantids also enjoy eating the tiny lawn hoppers as well.
