This is the most difficult to acquire subspecies of Scolopendra heros. Scolopendra heros is one of the larger centipedes and full grown adults rival S. subspinipes. This is a 3" captive hatched immature.

love centipedes myself, and that is a beauty, however they are the insect hunter i have the most respect (a.k.a. fear :p ) for, large, very agressive, strong, able to hold and crush like a snake and powerful venom is a heck of a combo, when i get one im definatly gonna take alot more caution then with some of the other stuff i keep :p

I never knew people kept milipedes and centipedes until my friend introducd me to this forum. I learned so much from this forum! BTW what do they eat? Do they use their poison for self defense only or do they hunt living things?
