Shield Molt & Mismolt :^(

The shield girl I got from Laura finally shed to...I think L6...not sure, but she's still not an adult! Unfortunately, one of the tiny shield babies I got from Rebecca mismolted and has subsequently died...poor little guy.

I can see why these guys are such a popular species in Europe! Very nice-looking...I hope to be able to breed her sometime soon! (Anyone have a subadult male they'd care to part with?)

I had a shield baby out of the stock I got do the exact same mismolt. That girl I gave you is like 2 weeks ahead in molting than all her brothers and sisters! My male just molted yesterday to catch up with her previous molt. Not sure what instar they are though, I stop counting somewhere around 4.....
