So about two weeks ago i got an appendectomy. While on the mend, i caught a virus from my brother- only i got hit ten times harder. It's called coxsackievirus. It started on Sunday. I slept all day and when I woke up I could barely stand and had a fever of 101.2. My dad continued to give me tylenol and motrin and advil and such. About two hours later, 10:30 pm, I was so cold i had to wear two blankets. I had a fever of 103.9 and my parents said that to the touch i felt boiling hot. I used cold compresses and took a temperate bath. Though the bath wasn't cold, to me it felt like I had joined the polar bear club. It was so cold to me that I could barely stand it. So I got out of the bath (Just to let you know, i was so delirious i could barely walk, so i needed my parents to help me) dried off and went to rest without the blankets on. We continued the medication whenever i could take it. By 1:30 in the morning, my temp was down to 102.5 and dropping. Yesterday morning, the fever was gone, but the worst had just begun. We went to the doctors, and all i had was a mild sore throat. He sent us home with a clean bill of health. Over the day, my sore throat worsened. My temperature fluctuated all day between 98 and 101. By last night my throat was so bad I couldn't swallow anything. Not even my own spit. Apparently, when you have coxsackievirus you get blisters in your mouth and throat. I went to sleep trying not to swallow. I thought it couldn't get any worse. I was TOTALLY wrong. Today I woke up and my tongue had blisters. So did my gums and my inner lip. The whole day i went through this hellish pain. My mom took us out for ice cream and I couldn't even eat that. It felt like i was swallowing liquid magma. It hurts so much right now i can't even explain in words. I couldn't eat my dinner tonight and I struggle to drink water. Wish me luck
