Hi everyone.

Recently I caught 3 M. Religosas, two of which were subadults. One, a dark brown female seemed very calm from the start - even when I first caught her she did not struggle. Her abdomen appeared very very bloated then, and she wouldn't eat.

Now, at least five days later, she still hasn't eaten and is still bloated. She is on the floor of her cage and seems to have lost all motor control. She is laying limp on her stomach and her legs occasionally twitch, one at a time. Is there anything I can do for her?

Well, as of this morning, the mantid has molted into adulthood. Her wings are kinda crumpled and the end of one of her legs is broken. I'm thinking about cutting off the wings. I don't want to stress the mantid by making it catch prey right away, so I'll hand feed it a fly and maybe a little piece of watermelon.

I think they get over exhausted before and after moulting to where they are just almost too lethargic to get back up to hang. Did it ground moult then,or is it now able to move around? Lucky if it made it through a ground moult, and if it can still climb on its own, might recover then

It ground molted ;) It's able to climb still, but it's very weak. I'm still holding out hope, and tomorrow or tonight I will feed.
