Hello all.

So all my silkworms died (I think they were too warm/close to a lamp) and I ordered blue bottle flies but they aren't coming until next week. I have nymphs of the following in various sizes:

Giant shield mantis (large already)

New Zealand mantis (medium size)

Miomantis (tiny!)

Idolomantis (two of them, one L2, one L3)

They are hungry little guys and gals and I don't know what I should attempt to get my hands on for them while I wait for more food. Halp!

did u order from me? I am sending orders tomorrow if u did, I would go get some mealworms, or anything at the pet store and cut into pieces for the small mantis to eat and leave big for the others, crickets are good.

1: get a net

2: get some wet dog or cat food or a piece of warm ham

3: put the food or ham outside in the sun

4: net wild flies and feed them to the nymphs
both successful ideas

Sweep net. I'd go to a weedy area and sweep. Around here I can go to these areas and just catch tons of grasshoppers.
