I'm going to be going to my cousins house in Connecticut for the forth of july Sunday. The last time i was there i found a nice population of six spotted tiger beetles (Cicindela sexguttata) They are free! Just pay the shipping cost. If any body is interested shoot me a PM. There is no guarantee i will find any, but the odds are good that i will. :) Sorry US only!

Thank-you!

Paul

Wow, these guys look awesome! Would you happen to know how to care for them, what to feed them? If you are able to collect them, how many would you send? I'd love to take pictures of them.

I'll be honest with you, i have never kept them before. I do believe there care is not to difficult as far as the adults go. They are predators. They eat other insects by running them down and crushing/chopping them up with there large mandibles. If i remember correctly? Peter, the owner/admin of this forum kept some for awhile. I think he has a video on youtube. I'm not sure how many i may be able to catch? These guys are crazy fast!

Mission FAILED!!! :( I think it was just way to hot! It was close to 100F on Sunday. The last time i found them it was much cooler. I went in late May last time. Sorry guys! :( I did try. Maybe next time?
