All depends on what you're housing. I use enclosures from 32 oz "deli" cups all the way to a mini greenhouse and everything in between.

A good cage size would be 2X the mantid's length and 3X its height. Although I make them a little larger.

If its to low then the mantis will mis shed, if its too high then the mantis may fall while shedding i`ve heard and it may not find food as easy
