Skittish female, eager male

So I dont think they connect the time before so I decided to mate them again. BUT the female is so nervous when ever the male flies on her she will freak out and run away... Is there any better way to mate skittish mantids? The male really wants to mate with her...

....whos cage r you putting them in? a seperate one? the males? or the females?

I am putting them out on a plant. But the female runs away from the male still. I will try again tonight because I heard they are more willing to mate at night
