Found this little guy one the sidewalk and brought him inside. Don't know what I'm going to do with him, but I couldn't help but photograph him!

I keep some different types of snails and leatherleaf slugs. It is not too much for me, but leatherleaf slugs aren't nearly as slimy. That slug looks like a slimer! I have had some slugs and snails that will try to eat fingers. It feels really weird when they scrape you with thier radula.

I want to find a pancake slug, they are like the leatherleaf but bigger. :) I haven't seen any normal slugs around here lately, just the more primitive types that can't completely withdraw thier tentacles. At least I like them the best anyway. A slimy banana slug would be cool, my daughter would go wild, she loves all creatures.

You would think he was really slimy likebugs, but he just looks it! He crawled up and down the aquarium without leaving any trails of slime or anything! He died not long after these pics. He attached himself to that carrot and died there. Wonder why?

I put mine in a terrarium with moist soil and weeds that I plant in there. They like to bury themselves during the day. Did you have any substrate in there?

That's what I was thinking. Maybe that's why he was so easy to catch and why he was in plain sight in midday heat. Who knows, but he was rad! I don't think I'll keep a slug again anytime soon though.

Sometimes I find slugs that go on the sidewalk or other manmade surface only to dry up in the sun. That might be the way they take thier last "walk".

That's cute. Why would anyone be grossed out???

It's like someone's tongue grawled out of their mouth and got lost. :tt2:
