This is a great web site I came across after my orb "weaver fever" lol ;) kicked in! I would love to buy or trade some of these jewles, although I am much more interested in Orb weavers such as:

Arrowshaped Orbweaver (Micrathena sagittata)

Basilica Spider (Mecynogea Lemniscata)

Giant Lichen Orbweaver (Araneus bicentenarius)

Golden Silk Orbweaver (Nephila clavipes)

LOL.. you got a crazier orb weaver fever than I do!

Is it just me or is the Joker's face on the back of the Rosemary spider?

Awesome photos, color and clarity! I had the occasion to witness (and photograph) an orbweaver spider molting two nights ago on my back deck. It did it hanging from a thread. I'd never seen this before, and that same day I collected my second ever specimen of a brownish lynx spider.

I'd have guessed your Pisaurina was a Tetragnatha by its posture, but it wouldn't be a very good guess or certainly an educated one. We don't get Pisaurids up here so I'm not very familiar with them.

Thank you Peter, it is nice that you make this forum available for others to share :)

It is really neat watching orbs molt! I have orbs all over the place here, so it is fairly common, but is spectacular nonetheless everytime I slow down and take the time to watch.

Regarding the Lynxes, they are ubiquitous here in Florida: Green Lynxes especially, then Browns, Stripeds, and Bark Lynxes are a little rarer. Here are some photos of the Bark and the Brown:

Brown Lynx (Oxyopes scalaris)

I hope you enjoy these photos too--I just caught that Bark Lynx today :)

PS: The ID on the Pisaurina is correct. I have had the good fortune to have gained the friendship of Dr. GB Edwards, Curator of Arachnida for the State of Florida for the last 30+ years, and considered *the* authority on Florida spiders, so I run all my questionable IDs (like that one) through him--cheers! :)

Excellent photos. How long does it take you to find all of these?
Thank you :)

Some of these I get all the time (Ogrefaced, Woodland Jumpers, Brown Lynx, Striped Lynx, etc.), others are a little harder to come by (Rosemary Crab, Slender Fishing, Bark Lynx, etc.).

Cheers!

Jack
