edit: btw if anyone has any pointers on how to keep shadowing a minimum when shooting with a white background and flash let me know :)

Ringlight...or maybe a laaaarge diffuse source. Like a big softbox hanging over the subject.

Or light from opposite sides with two sources.

 
I knew more money would be involved :rolleyes:

My friend has a studio lighting setup (several lights with giant soft boxes)... im going to ask him if I can try and use it for macro :lol:

Could you imagine the bug staring at a huge camera setup with giant lights surrounding it? Poor little fella :lol:
