Some nymphs are stuck.

A chinese ooth started hatching, (more like exploding) with nymphs this morning. There seems to be a small cluster of malformed nymphs that are dangling from the ooth. There is one who is stuck by the back legs and is grabbing at the other newly emerged ones. I have what seems like at least 100 good ones already. It just is hard for me to watch it suffering like that and I cant stop going in there, this is my first time with an ooth. It seems to be taking forever. Is this clumping common with so many nymphs emerging at once?

I don't know if it was the best way, but I managed to remove the dangling mantid from his bondage. I also freed the suffering twisted mass from the ooth, being as the unfortunate creatures seemed to dry thier exoskeletons all deformed. I used a long needle to do this withuot opening the container. Now the newcomers have room to hang properly, without getting caught up in the mass of chaos. I just couldn't watch that suffering. Wow, they are still coming out, just not as fast.

Mist he sides of the container. With more humidity they will be less likely to get stuck on the way out. This does happen from time to time.

Thanks, I did that a few minutes after I noticed the jam. I was surprised to see most nymphs drinking, even two who were trapped by the hindmost legs, stray mist got them. I didn't resort to the needle until hours had passed and the same nymphs were still trapped.

You are not alone, I have hatched pobably a thousand ooths, and even today, I still go in there an look at them and pray, "God, do not let me see them until they are done hatching, cause u know God, I won't be able to leave them alone and they probably don't need me, and if I go in there, sure enough I will mess them up, thanks God"
