My Female Sub Adult Chinese has been sub adult for over two months with the temperature at 72-74. I am not good at telling if wing buds are swollen but I think they are but it cant stand up, cant hang, wont eat, and barley moves. Should I post a pic? Is it time for me too "put it down" or should I let it keep going and hoping it might live or molt. It is very sluggish and its abdomen is turning red. Why? Also one of its eyes have changed color, strange. This would have been my first adult mantis that I raised and have survived. Its head is always facing down, I had this happen before and the mantis molted in my hand, she was perfectly fine but died from something in the sub adult stage. Aggggghhhhhh

Seems that your mantis has been hit with some sort of illness. What kind of enclosure do you have? If it's too small, eye damages are not uncommon. Also, what's the moisture level like? It could be an infection or molds/fungus, etc.

Wow, but first of all i should buy them on sunday. My only free day, thank you for your paitence. Bu its is a 18 inch tall terrarium, with fake flowers and plants in it. I do think it is somesort of illness but I am not sure what. Would you like a picture of the cage and the poor mantis

The temp seems a bit on the low side, but I've never raised any Chinese before. If it can't stand up or hang, then that's serious, plus the discoloration on the abdomen. Post some pics for others to diagnose, and hopefully we can still save her. If not, at least we can learn something about it for future references.

Pics usually help alot. Someone may have had that happen to them and have some advice. Even if nothing can be done about her condition it will be better documented for others to see.
