On the topic of food (sort of), I'm wondering if anyone ever noticed this before:

My mesh cages are backed up against a white wall. When I moved the cages to clean (they've been in the same place for a full generation of Gongy's and Idolos), I noticed tiny reddish-brown spatters on the wall - pretty much a pointalist painting of bio-goo. I thought it was either projectile feces, or the pop-squirt from thousands of pinched flies - spewing gut-juice across the horizon.

Thoughts...?

Yeah, I guessed it was from the flies, but how...? Do they projectile vomit...? It's a good 2 inches away from the cage.

Only here could we be discussing projectile vomiting alongside mantids...

lol. That I do not know. Most of the mantids I've raised were locals, and I keep them primarily outside. (makes it easier to mimic normal day/night cycles and etc) :)
