Great photos! Is it a male? My female doesn't have blue on her raptors and she is brown. Maybe just the green ones have the blue.

I have males and females with the blue flash. Usually the green and lighter morphs show it better. The browns I find will have the blue flash be more of a black flash. Some of them have no flash at all. I will be breeding the males and females with the most blue. I am still waiting on the females to molt, but I have lots of boys waiting. I've tried to pair a couple, but these things are easily po'd and easily sidetracked when thrown into "threat mode". I put them both in the laundry basket and left for work. We'll se what awaits when I return home.

No, is a female, I have a lot of Sphodromantis blue flash, 4 females are brown, with dark colour on the raptors, but 6 females green have blue, i think is random.

Ah, I thought the broad face looked female but I also thought since mine is brown with no blue all females might be brown. I've only ever had these 3. Good to know the females can turn out green. That's more appealing for sure.

I'll have to get some pictures of the different colors I have. I have a lot of females starting to molt to adult. My favorite (I just call her my "Golden Girl") was golden colored. I kept her separated as a "favorite" in which case was held more and fed more...and hence, she was my first to become adult (and almost impossible to give me a threat pose). :( She didn't stay golden, but is a lighter green with a good "blue flash". I have gotten her mated once to date and will probably introduce another male tomorrow.

I was able to get my "Golden Girl" paired with another male. These photos are the best I got tonight. I was trying to get the photos with both the blue flashes being present. They are going to make pretty babies.
