I always assumed that spiderlings hatch in the Spring because most things seem to. I just noticed that spiderlings from a Green Lynx spider which was guarding an egg case in my garden have just hatched out October 29! This strikes me as odd, since our Southern California "winter" is fast approaching. No snow or anything but soon the barometer will dip to 40-50 farenheit most nights and hopefully some rain will come.
Anyways, the reason I am concerned about this is that i feel the spiderlings may have hatched early on account of it being unseasonably warm this month - average about 85, 90 up to high nineties. If the spiderlings hatched early then the mantid ooth i have placed in the garden may hatch early too and kill the nymphs! Is that a valid concern or Green Lynx spiderlings always hatch in the fall?
