I have had a single ooth hatch out over the past two months. Is this normal? Every few days I round up 3 or 4 nymphs. I collected 4 this morning, that have hatched since Saturday, the last time I checked. I'm use to mass hatching, and over a period of days. But not months. I think I'm up in the 40's, 50's for nymphs count.

My first few captive bred Stagmomantis carolina oothecae hatched a few nymphs almost every day for at least 2 weeks from each ootheca. The mother came from a member, and the father came from a local park.

The other day I had 2 oothecae hatch from the same species, but I found the ooth that the parents came from locally at the park. I don't even recall how the wild found ootheca hatched (it was a small ooth), but the oothecae that hatched the other day, pretty much exploded all on that morning.
 I have no idea why the burst hatching happened with this species, as I have read, and witnessed, that it is a staggered hatching. I was very surprised to see all those nymphs in the cup, it reminded me of when my Tenodera sinensis hatched.
