Hello community,

Today I have a question regarding the S. Carolina nymphs...

I've read and also been told by member they can adapt the coloring on their skins to the environment around them with each passing molt, my question is, what exactly are their limits in colors?

Can you make blue colored/patterned mantids?

Yellows?

Reds?...

Obviously greens, dusty greys, browns, blacks and combinations are most common

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have not seen any evidence for this in mantids. S. carolina can vary quite a bit in color naturally. You don't believe you will be able to make one red or yellow.

Lol no not necessarily Rick, just curious as to "IF" its possible to bring out more distinctive colors, more uncommon and rare colors.

As mantisman said, some end up with purple colors.

According to Wikipedia, they can adapt with each molt.

Not saying I'm trying to make a red/ yellow mantid. As sweet as a red or highlighter yellow mantis would be.

The question was: What does the community think the limits are.
