i have a video but i dont know how to upload them yet, working on it! luckily i learned that my camers has this feature of taking pictures from the video clip

Great job! It is such a relief when they are done :p and there aren't any casualties.
luckily im a light sleeper and about 4am i heard the clicking of his claws on the plastic as he was trying to get away from her. i jumped up and pulled him out of the enclosure

I do the same thing when trying to mate them overnight. I jump out of bed at the slightest noise. Sometimes insomnia is helpful in this hobby!

Before I rescued a cat, I used to breed the mantids out of enclosures in my bedroom. The male can get away and sometimes I would have to search for males that were hiding. My first mantis flew right onto my pillow in front of my face when he finished mating. I couldn't sleep a wink knowing that they were mating. I am glad that I was awake cause I would have been heartbroken if I had rolled over on him. lol
