stupid question about molting

Hello! I live in AZ and just found a baby mantis that I stupidly let go a couple days ago. So, I was looking for him again today, and I found a green dangling sac of some insect from a horizontal blade of grass. It was about 3/4 of an inch long. From all the molting pictures I have seen, I was able to tell that it was a mantis molting from the outline of the legs, etc. . . Is it possible to have a mantis first molt with its legs tucked in the sac, and not positioned separately from its body?

It depends on the instar

Usually between 10 mins to a couple hours for most species
