I recieved my Oxypilus distinctus ooths from drizzt in the mail. They were not glued down to the side of the container so I have no idea which position is the right-side-up position for them. The last thing I want to do is glue the oothecae upside down.

Is the pointed end of the ooth pointed upwards or downwards? Do I have it right in the pic?

I was also thinking of just glueing the ooths to a lid. Then the upside down position thing wouldn't really matter, would it?

The side facing you in the pic is where the nymphs emerge. Attach it to the lid with that side facing down with clear space for at least few inches.

I am such a novice at this ootheca thing. :p

My female P. ocellata laid her ooth on the side of the container. Wouldn't that be kind of weird for the nymphs to hatch out from it since the P.O. ooth is kind of flat and it'd be hard for the nymphs to hang without bumping the side of the container? For some reason her ooth fell off the side of the container and now I'm debating whether or not to glue it on the lid of the container or back where it was. Would it matter?

If it were me I'd probably stick it on the lid, but it doesn't really matter. They'll hatch well pretty much any way you put them.

I once received a bunch of pseudocreobotra oothecae from overseas that all arrived broken in pieces. I figured they were goners and dumped all the pieces into a plastic cup(too lazy to throw in the trash).

Few days later I had nymphs crawling everywhere.
