I am trying to breed my thistles and my female already laid one infertile ooth but dont know if they call even if they lay infertile ooths and am asking if this is a good start to set up for my pair to mate as I got a 20 gallon tank and a heat lamp and put the lamp on top of the tank and have a thermometer stuck on the front and put the pair in the tank and should I put the male in first and then leave him in till the heat goes up a bit before putting in the female or just put both of them in the tank when the temp goes over 97 degrees?

Just introduce the male behind the female and make sure he notices her (by either moving her a little or by blowing her scent his way). He'll point his antennae at her or wiggle them in excitement when he does realize she is there. After that just let him do his job. I did this at room temperature, no special heating, and about 3-4 weeks adult for both of them.
